So I am talking on the phone to my mom while I walk through the neighborhood to the nearby football feild that has a track when I come across somethink slinking in the grass. It was brown and furry so my first instinct was maybe its a cat. I slowed my pace down so I could study its behavior for a minute. It was crouched low then rolled to one side in the sun. I still wasn't convienced it was a cat so I inched a lil closer to see if it was a racoon but that alarmed me so i decided than when in doubt just throw something! so I picked up a stick and tossed it within 10 ft of the creature. It dashed off towards the wooded area that is right by the fence that I need to pass to get to the track...umm yikes!!!
I looked for cat ears or racoon markings but it had neither...so I asked my mother what it could possible be. we collectively came up with a beaver. bUt I wasn't certain so I walked to the other end of the park and climed the fence to get to the track, all the while talking to my mom on the phone and explaining how when I lived in Puerto rico I saw some other unidentified creature. It resembled a squirrel, rabbit and mouse mixed togethor...lol some kinda hybrid creature sort of like a chinchilla.
My mom laughed at me because I jumped the fence...I said" all those dance classes and being a tomboy and athlete all my life has to pay off somekinda way!" she was so amused.
so fast forward to my workout: Its a absolutely gorgeous day. sun shinning, birds singing, children playing n the field...then dun dun dun...I notice the slinking character from the corner of my eye. My spidey senses tell me to go see what it is...my horror movie senses tell me to run! Lol
So I did a combo, I ran the fence that seperated the track from the feild that was about 25 yards from the creature. It stood up and its mouth was moving really fast like a hamster and it had small paws in front and I could linda make out the flat tail...It was a beaver. But I had to be sure so I called my life line. I called home to ask my cousin Tee if there were any Beavers in our neighborhood. She said Yes. and that she tried to tell her husband but he didn't believe her.
So the mystery creature is solved. Now If I could just find Shaggy and Scooby for a sandwhich...I am starving...salad is not doing it for me.
